Heirs, Successors or Assigns as the fair and reasonable rental

of the ground at the date of such renewal.

The above mentioned owners of Rural Building

Lot No. 1 now desire that the Crown Lease granted to me on the

4th. May, 1888, should be surrendered and that they should be

granted new Crown Leases of the respective portions belonging

to them containing the clause for renewal mentioned above.

Will you be good enough to inform me whether

the Government are prepared to accept a surrender of the lot

and to grant new Leases to the owner of the various portions,

such leases to obtain a clause providing for a renewal in the

same way as the Leases now being granted.
